Why Blog for SALT?

I have recently discovered the easy and user friendly method of communicating and delivering information to many people via internet blogging. So, I decided to set up a blog for the new SALT ministry at NPBC.

Some reasons for setting up a blog dedicated to the SALT ministry at North Peninsula Baptist Church are:

  1. The cost is right (free).
  2. Access is available 24/7.
  3. Anyone can view and contribute information via comments. (Must register your profile. It's EASY!)
  4. Through the blog posts and comments section, our church leadership can not only grasp information that needs to be communicated but can also post questions, interact, provide insight, and new ideas.
  5. The posts will be updated prior to our bi-monthly SALT meetings at NPBC so that everyone can review the information and come prepared to interact during our SALT meeting.
  6. Ultimately, I think it will save time during our actual SALT meetings by removing the need to "teach" leadership exclusively and instead open more time for discussion, planning, coordination of ministry, etc.

So, here are my plans for this blog at this time. Of course, my plans are flexible and you should be flexible also.

  1. I will be in study and research on vital areas of leadership, organization, current events, ministry needs, new ideas, etc.
  2. I will post information and articles on these subjects from time to time but at least prior to our scheduled bi-monthly SALT meetings.
  3. I will announce the posts through our Sunday Bulletins and perhaps through a SALT team member email list.
  4. I am hoping that all SALT team members at NPBC will view the blog posts and register to make comments as well. (Click on the "comments" link just below this post and follow the instructions.)

Another key advantage is that our efforts at NPBC can be viewed and commented on by other pastors, professors, denominational workers, and Christians at other churches. Together, we can accomplish great things for the Lord at NPBC!

Also, if you haven't already viewed my personal blog and interacted, visit the site at http://christopherredman.blogspot.com .

Blessings,

CR
